Love TriValley Media Group (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use LoveTriValley.com, LoveLivermore.com, LovePleasanton.com, LoveDublin.com, LoveSanRamon.com, and LoveDanville.com (collectively, the “Sites”).

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Use by reference. By using the Sites, you agree to the practices described here.

We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you register using a social login provider (Google, Facebook), we receive basic profile information from that provider as permitted by your settings.
  • Profile information: Optional details you add to your profile, such as a profile photo, bio, location within the Tri-Valley, or interests.
  • User Content: Reviews, ratings, photos, lists, comments, and other content you submit to the Sites.
  • Business claim information: If you claim a business listing, we collect the information you provide to verify your authority over the listing.
  • Communications: Messages you send us via contact forms, email, or support requests.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and any segmentation preferences you select.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, links clicked, search queries, time spent on the Sites, and referral source.
  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and language preferences.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Sites are used. See Section 5 below.
  • Location information: If you use features such as “Near Me” search, we may request your approximate location from your browser. Location data is used only to return nearby results during your session and is not stored or linked to your account unless you explicitly save a location.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Social login providers: When you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information you have authorized those services to share.
  • Business data providers: Business listing details may be sourced from public databases and third-party data providers. This information generally does not include personal information about you.
  • Analytics providers: We may receive aggregated data from analytics services about how visitors interact with the Sites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and provide single sign-on across our network of Sites
  • Display your User Content, reviews, and profile as intended
  • Operate the gamification system (points, badges, ranks, leaderboards)
  • Moderate content, enforce our Terms, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Respond to your questions, support requests, and DMCA notices
  • Send you transactional emails (account notifications, password resets, business claim confirmations)
  • Send newsletters and marketing communications, if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • Improve the Sites by understanding how they are used
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, property, and safety of Love TriValley Media Group, our users, and the public

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Publicly Visible Content

Reviews, ratings, photos, lists, profile display names, profile photos, badges, and other content you choose to publish are visible to anyone who visits the Sites. Do not include information in public content that you are not comfortable sharing publicly.

3.2 Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Sites, such as:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Cloudways and its underlying cloud providers
  • Email and newsletter delivery: Mailchimp and transactional email services
  • Social login: Google, Facebook (via Nextend Social Login)
  • Maps and geolocation: Leaflet, OpenStreetMap, OpenTopoMap, Open-Meteo (weather)
  • Analytics: Privacy-respecting analytics services
  • Security and anti-abuse: Cloudflare, Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection)

These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.

3.3 Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Love TriValley Media Group, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Love TriValley Media Group is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3.5 Partners

Vale and Vine is a separate real estate brokerage that partners with Love TriValley. Vale and Vine operates independently and is governed by its own privacy practices. We do not share your Love TriValley account information with Vale and Vine unless you explicitly choose to engage with their services.

4. Your Rights and Choices

4.1 Accessing and Updating Your Information

You can view and edit most of your profile information directly from your account dashboard. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of other personal information we hold about you, contact us at hello@lovetrivalley.com.

4.2 Deleting Your Account

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting hello@lovetrivalley.com. When you delete your account:

  • Your profile, reviews, and other User Content will be removed from public-facing areas of the Sites within 30 days
  • Cached or archived copies may persist for a limited time
  • We may retain limited information required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution

4.3 Marketing Communications

You can unsubscribe from newsletters and marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us. Transactional emails (such as account notifications and password resets) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

4.4 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • Right to know: what personal information we collect about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with
  • Right to delete: personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to correct: inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

4.5 Do Not Track

Because there is no industry-standard way to respond to Do Not Track browser signals, the Sites do not respond to them. We do not engage in cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: keep you logged in, remember your session, prevent fraud, and enable core features
  • Preference cookies: remember your settings such as your default city
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how the Sites are used in aggregate

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Sites from working correctly.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, rate limiting, CAPTCHA on public submission forms, and access controls on our hosting infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at hello@lovetrivalley.com and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International Users

The Sites are operated from the United States and are intended for users located in the United States, primarily in the Tri-Valley region of California. If you access the Sites from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Sites contain links to third-party websites and integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third parties you interact with through the Sites.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the Sites with a revised effective date and, where appropriate, notify registered users. Your continued use of the Sites after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
