About Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park
This 1,700-acre park spans over 25 miles of trails winding through oak woodlands and rolling grasslands above the Livermore Valley. The Ridgeline Trail delivers panoramic views across the region, while the shaded Woodland and Bay Leaf trails offer cooler alternatives through the canyons. Moderate to challenging terrain with some steep climbs—the elevation gain earns those ridge vistas.
Established in 1988 to preserve the pastoral landscape from development, the park welcomes hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians on shared fire roads. Free parking at the staging area, though it fills early on weekends. Dogs must stay leashed, and the open daily schedule means you can catch sunrise from the ridgetop if you're up for the early climb.
