About May Nissen Park & Swim Center
This Livermore community hub has been serving families since 1963, when the pool was added to the 12.2-acre park named for longtime local teacher May Nissen. The eight-lane lap pool and wading pool draw swimmers all summer, while the recently renovated playground features kid-powered music and bouncy baubles that keep children entertained for hours.
Closed Sundays, which gives the staff time to maintain the diverse facilities that include basketball courts, tennis courts, and the Randy Johnson Junior Giants Field. The dog park and reservable picnic areas make it easy to plan family gatherings, and the calm atmosphere creates a delightful urban oasis right in the heart of Livermore.
